Roxy’s — the full story

About This Site & How We Report It

The Roxy’s File is an independent, single-subject publication: a documented account of Roxy’s Pub at 309 Clematis Street — West Palm Beach’s oldest bar — its ownership under John P. Webb, and the litigation now surrounding it, from the $1.1 million beer-mug judgment and near-auction to the pending $5.1 million foreclosure.

Who publishes this

The Roxy’s File is researched, written, and published by an independent editor. Because the subject of this reporting involves active litigation around a named local business, chapters carry the publication’s editorial byline rather than a personal one. We are not a party to any of the cases described, and we have no financial stake in the property, the business, or the litigation’s outcome.

Methodology

Every factual claim on this site is sourced to the public record or to named news reporting, and cited inline with bracketed references that resolve on the Sources & References page. The primary sources are:

  • Palm Beach County Circuit Court dockets and filings (15th Judicial Circuit, via eCaseView), including the verified foreclosure complaint and its exhibits.
  • Florida Division of Corporations (Sunbiz) filings for Von Esselborn Inc., RP Palm Beach LLC, Wallisville Corporation, Small Time Restaurant Group LLC, and related entities.
  • Palm Beach County Property Appraiser parcel data and recorded instruments (official-records books).
  • Contemporaneous news reporting, credited and linked where used.

Where a figure comes from news accounts rather than a document we have read directly, the text says so. Where the record is ambiguous or contradictory, we note the discrepancy rather than resolve it by guesswork. Chapters show a visible “Published” and “Updated” date; when a docket event changes the story, the relevant chapter is revised and the update is logged.

Corrections

If you believe anything here is inaccurate — or you have a public record we have missed — email corrections@wpbroxys.com. Submissions are checked against the underlying record, and material corrections are made on the page with the “Updated” date refreshed.
